Frontend Tech Lead - React/TypeScript

We're seeking a skilled Frontend Tech Lead to lead the development of our unified frontend project at TechShack. This role involves managing a team of engineers while remaining hands-on with React and TypeScript.


About the Project:

Our project aims to consolidate older interfaces into a unified React/Next.js application. You'll work alongside a talented team of engineers to bring this vision to life.


Your Role:

  • Hands-on coding with React and TypeScript
  • Team management and mentorship
  • Make architecture decisions and guide the team to success
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure project alignment


Tech Stack:

  • React, Next.js, TypeScript
  • Golang/PHP, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform (desirable)


Requirements:

  • Proven experience with React and TypeScript
  • Strong line management and mentoring skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Next.js, design systems, and other frontend frameworks is a plus
  • Personable, approachable, and capable of fostering a supportive team environment
  • Ideally, candidates will have 2-3 years' tenure in leadership roles


Flexible Working:

  • 1-2 days/week in our London office (or more if you prefer)


Interview Process:

  • 45-min virtual meeting with talent and Engineering Manager
  • 1:45 hour virtual competency assessment with our Director of Engineering / Product and UX
  • Final in-person interview in our London office


£90k-£110k
