Production Engineer Job Description

A new opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to join our team at Ernest & Co Recruitment. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to work with our clients in Basingstoke.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain technical engineering instructions for a multi-disciplinary production facility.
  • Generate and maintain production Bills of Materials, routings, and manufacturing orders for existing and new products.
  • Create routings and costing to facilitate make-buy decisions.
  • Produce costings in support of prospective sales.
  • Assist in purchasing through negotiation and placement of orders for raw materials, components, and sub-contract manufacture/service provisions.
  • Expedite and provide regular updates on procurement status with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.

Requirements:

  • Good level of experience in production engineering, planning, and buying, ideally from a make-to-order background.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage situations to achieve cost, time, and quality targets.
  • Experience with Microsoft and ERP/MRP environments is advantageous.

About the Role:

The salary for this role is up to £38,000 per year, dependent upon level of experience.
