About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will model best practices, provide technical mentoring, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve technical deliverables. You will also act as Technical Lead for projects where required and contribute to innovative engineering research work focused on technology readiness levels 3+.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake innovative engineering research work, primarily focused on technology/manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3+
  • Contribute to the identification, technical specification, and delivery of new and novel technology capability into the MTC, customers, or industrial member's premises
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, customers, and partners
Requirements
  • Degree in mechanical design engineering or a related discipline
  • Demonstrable industrial experience in critical thinking, design thinking, or other design methodologies and approaches
  • Experience in technical project management, including resourcing, cost management, and scope management
  • Familiarity with 3D and 2D CAD packages, such as SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or similar
  • Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing methods, including injection moulding, thermoforming, fabrication, machining, or laser cutting
