**Job Title:** Manchester Atomic Oxygen Sensor Specialist
**Company Overview:** The University of Manchester is seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a Manchester Atomic Oxygen Sensor Specialist. This role will involve developing performance models for a satellite-based atomic oxygen sensor.
**Estimated Salary:** £48,000 - £58,000 per annum, depending on experience.
**Job Description:
About the ProjectWe are developing a satellite-based atomic oxygen sensor as part of an ESA project. This sensor will play a crucial role in understanding the effects of atomic oxygen on satellite surfaces.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Develop performance models for the sensor
- Design a proof-of-concept article for testing
- Support experimental de-risking activities at the ESTEC LEOX Facility
**Required Skills and Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., physics, chemistry, materials science)
- Experience with QCM-based sensing
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
