About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Haematology Day Unit at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of nursing care under the supervision of a registered healthcare practitioner.
  • Support the safe manual handling of patients and maintain their safety and well-being.
  • Collect and process specimens, including urine, stool, and blood samples.
  • Assist with bone marrow procedures and other clinical tasks as required.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal and written communication to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and tidy environment, including clinic areas, equipment, and patient rooms.
  • Report any concerns or incidents related to patient safety or well-being to a registered nurse or healthcare practitioner.
Person Specification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use electronic patient records.
  • Understanding of the role of a Healthcare Assistant and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
