Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a highly respected charity-led independent school to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage small classes of students with SEMH, providing tailored support for their unique needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons and activities, both 1:1 and in small group settings.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team and school therapists to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively and support students' emotional development.
  • Act as a key support to teachers and assist with lesson planning and curriculum development.
  • Foster a positive, therapeutic learning environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a school with SEMH students is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage small class sizes and provide individualized support.
