Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Business Development: Sell air, road, sea, and courier services to clients, focusing on building strong relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
- Internal and External Pricing: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop pricing strategies and negotiate with external clients to secure deals.
- Cold Calling and Client Visits: Conduct regular cold calls to identify new business leads and visit existing clients to build relationships and identify new sales opportunities.
- Liaising with Key Accounts, Sales, and Operations: Work closely with key accounts, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and identify areas for improvement.
- Quoting Customers and Follow-ups: Provide accurate quotes to customers and follow up to ensure timely delivery and satisfaction.
- Update Customer Tariffs: Regularly update customer tariffs to reflect changes in market conditions and ensure competitiveness.
- Rate Negotiation: Negotiate rates with clients to secure deals and maintain strong relationships.
- Market Trends, Potential, and Customer Needs: Stay up-to-date with market trends, identify potential opportunities, and understand customer needs to inform sales strategies.
- Lead Marketing and Communication: Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the company's product offering across the business.
Requirements:
- Previous Freight Forwarding Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a strong understanding of the industry and its challenges.
- Freight Sales Experience: Proven track record of success in freight sales, with a strong ability to build relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Strong Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate rates and secure deals with clients.
- PC Literate: Proficient in using PC software and systems to manage sales and customer relationships.
- Full UK Driving License: A full UK driving license is required, with a willingness to travel within a 15-mile radius of Gatwick airport.
