Electrical Project Engineer

Murphy is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our award-winning Energy team. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of Electrical, control, and instrumentation installation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct risk assessments, design, pricing, procurement, scope of works, and quality assurance of EC&I works.
  • Supervise a team of in-house EC&I technicians and sub-contractors, ensuring that work is carried out to a high standard and in compliance with relevant EC&I regulations and procedures.
  • Manage works and liaise between disciplines, EC&I contractors, and clients.
  • Manage and organize permits, RAMS, ITP's, EC&I installation, ATEX Inspections, and collation of documentation ready for client submission.
  • Conduct quality control checks on completed work to ensure that it meets the required standards.
  • Take a personal interest in identifying, coaching, and developing key staff.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of work-related discussions with clients/designers/project team.
  • Ensure that inspection and test plans are completed as required by the PMP/Specification, including a check of dimension accuracy and quality.
Requirements:
  • HNC or equivalent(s) Qualified Electrician with appropriate technical qualifications such as level 2 electrical installation, 18th edition, 2391, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all current regulations and British standards relating to EC&I installations and good knowledge of relevant practice and legislation.
  • Experience within the Oil and Gas industry or similar.
