Washroom Operations Team Lead

As a key member of our hygiene operations team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a team of colleagues to achieve their regional goals and service levels. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a bridge between frontline colleagues and depot management, ensuring effective communication and implementation of company strategies and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a small team of driver colleagues, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.
- Implement ongoing training initiatives to keep team members updated on new products, customer requirements, best practices, and company policies.
- Take ownership of the team's area, overseeing day-to-day operations, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the recruitment of new drivers, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, completing observation days, and onboarding new team members.
- Respond to urgent customer requests as directed by the scheduling team or management team, which may sometimes involve working extra hours.
- Conduct comprehensive induction training for new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
- Provide feedback on performance, including knowledge, attitude, and skill, to individuals and management.
- Previous training/coaching experience is desirable.
- Excellent service delivery and driving skills are essential.
- Able to work effectively with managers, drivers, HR, L&D, and health and safety teams.
- Must abide by and communicate/demonstrate health and safety regulations and COSHH, including always wearing appropriate protective clothing.
- Demonstrates resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Full UK manual driving license for a minimum of 12 months, with a maximum of 6 points.
- The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of an enhanced DBS check.
- Due to the nature of waste handled and customers serviced, it is mandatory for drivers to have vaccinations against Hepatitis B, tetanus/polio.
