About the Role:

The Forward Trust is seeking a qualified or soon-to-be qualified Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in HMP Chelmsford. As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, you will work with adults on an individual face-to-face basis or through facilitating therapeutic groups, providing assessment and low-intensity interventions to those individuals presenting with mild to moderate depression and anxiety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess service users' suitability for evidence-based psychological interventions
  • Deliver a wide range of Cognitive Behavioural therapy-based interventions, including guided self-help, CBT, and group work
  • Undertake patient-centred interviews to identify areas where the individual wishes to see change and recovery
  • Assess and support prisoners with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery
  • Maintain quality standards in the delivery of the service

Requirements:

  • Qualified or soon-to-be qualified Mental Health Practitioner
  • Experience of undertaking CBT assessments and delivering CBT and low-intensity interventions
  • Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties and those in primary care
