We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with medical requirements. As a 1:1 Medical Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to the pupil with medical needs, assisting with personal care and any medical procedures as required.
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to suit the pupil's specific needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher to facilitate classroom activities and ensure the pupil is fully engaged and supported.
- Monitor and report on the pupil's progress, health, and well-being, communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that empowers the pupil to develop independence and confidence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in a 1:1 capacity or with medical needs.
- Relevant qualifications in health care, education, or child development (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of specific medical conditions and appropriate support strategies is advantageous.
