About the Role

Mountain Healthcare Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Forensic Nurse or Paramedic to join our team as a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and lively environment, providing high-quality care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency to acute medical episodes.

As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

The role is based within Maidenhead Police Custody Suite, and we offer a 4-on-4-off rota pattern, allowing you to plan your personal life months in advance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forensic sampling (including road traffic offence bloods).
  • Signposting and conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies.
  • Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
  • Acute disease management.
  • Promoting good personal healthcare.
  • Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
  • A minimum of 3 years' post qualification experience.
  • Acute medical healthcare experience.
  • Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal to assist you in the role: A&E, walk-in centre, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, as a Paramedic Practitioner, Registered Nurse or other relevant discipline.
