Neuroradiology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Neuroradiologist to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a key member of our diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology services, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology services, including inpatient cover, reporting, and clinical meetings.
- Perform a comprehensive range of interventional neuroradiology procedures, including mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke.
- Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology service.
- Participate in teaching and training for the Peninsula Medical School and Peninsula Radiology Training Program.
- Comply with Trust Policies, including job planning, appraisal, and leave-taking.
- Full GMC Registration.
- Fellowship Royal College of Radiologists.
- CCT in Radiology and entry on Specialist Register.
- MD, PhD, or other postgraduate degree.
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to requirement for gaining UK CCT in radiology.
- Further sub-specialist training in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
- Experience in interventional neuroradiology procedures, including stroke thrombectomy.
- Experience in adult neuroimaging.
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on full range of both emergency and routine neuroradiological situations.
- Ability to supervise radiology specialty trainees across a broad range of neuroimaging.
- Able to participate in interventional neuroradiology on-call rota.
- Experience in vertebral augmentation procedures and spinal biopsies.
- Experience in brain and spinal AVM treatments.
- Experience in spectroscopy, functional imaging, and other advanced neuroimaging techniques.
- Ability to apply evidence-based approach to management of clinical problems.
- Evidence of completed audit projects.
- Completion of clinical research.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to undertake basic science research.
- Ability to lead research team.
- Previous success in grant applications to national funding bodies.
- Ability to teach clinical and practical skills.
- Experience of teaching clinical skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Ability to supervise postgraduate research.
- Well-presented CV.
- Ability to communicate well with patients and staff, both orally and in writing.
- Enquiring, critical approach to work.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Caring attitude to patients, relatives, GPs, nurses, and other agencies.
- Commitment to continuing medical education.
- Leadership qualities.
- Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional, or national level.
- Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of specialist service.
- Ability to participate in department, directorate, and trust management.
- Experience in audit.
- Experience in medical management.
- Ability and willingness to work hours of the job, shifts, on call, with any reasonable adjustment to take account of any local requirement or disability.
- Ability to move between sites if required.
