Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to join our team at Accountancy Expertise Ltd in Pimlico, London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, primarily consisting of Owner Managed Businesses and charities.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of VAT principles and workings.
  • Produce periodic management accounts, including trial balances, cash flow statements, and client-specific reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements to trial balance stage, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Work independently and unsupervised, adhering to client and statutory deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients to obtain their books and records, and provide support and assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide administrative support and contribute to the firm's growth.
  • Utilize QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage Line 50, with exposure to other client software packages as required.
Requirements:
  • At least 3-4 years of practice experience with a strong technical knowledge of VAT and management accounts.
  • A professional qualification such as AAT or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
