About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team in the Hamerlik lab at The University of Manchester. The successful candidate will work on translational neurooncology projects, focusing on multi-omic data analysis and storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct low-level quality control and mapping of multi-omic data
  • Perform statistical analysis, data visualization, and machine learning tasks
  • Develop tools and workflows for data analysis and interpretation
  • Contribute to writing up work for journal papers and presentations
  • Collaborate with colleagues across cancer sciences and the Centre for Biostatistics
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Familiarity with proteomics and/or genomics data analysis methods
  • Experience with programming languages relevant to bioinformatics (e.g. R, Python, C/C++, or Java)
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and good communication skills
  • Good recording and curation skills for high project throughput
