We are currently seeking a highly experienced Medicinal Chemistry Director to join our client, a leading Pharmaceutical Drug Discovery company in the UK. As the Medicinal Chemistry Director, you will be responsible for leading the wider chemistry departments and driving technology development through innovative approaches and scientific knowledge on various portfolio projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Medicinal Chemistry professional to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact on the company's drug discovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead structure-based drug design and update synthesis methodologies, managing and consulting large teams on target validation and lead optimization stages.
2. Apply expert Medicinal Chemistry and DMPK knowledge to lead drug discovery project teams and deliver high-quality compounds to clinical trials.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage scientific collaborations, identify clinical candidates, and manage CRO outsourcing activities.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A relevant degree in a Chemistry discipline.
2. Proven industry experience working in the Drug Discovery space with a proven Medicinal Chemistry track record.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience leading drug discovery project teams, with experience in neuroscience or transmembrane targets being desirable.
