Job Title: Application Configuration Analyst

Job Summary:

The Application Configuration Analyst is responsible for providing efficient and timely support, troubleshooting, and training for all applications end-users. This role works closely with end-users to provide direction, instruction, and assistance with mission-critical system features and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support and maintain clinical system applications using required tools and technologies.
  2. Manage the design, preparation, and implementation of EHR upgrades and migration for AFC clinic staff.
  3. Create and maintain clinical application support and training materials.
  4. Design and configure EHR templates, workflows, and reports.
  5. Access and troubleshoot technical issues encountered by team members.
  6. Enhance the EHR process at clinics.
  7. Provide training and be the subject matter expert of all clinic software.
  8. Create and monitor support tickets with EHR vendors and work to resolve problems quickly and accurately.
  9. Provide support for EHR system hardware, including configuration and troubleshooting.
  10. Maintain EHR security settings and other system configurations.
  11. Analyze, coordinate, and assist with the development, testing, maintenance, and education for system applications.
  12. Communicate changes/new initiatives and critical issues to end-users.
  13. Assume special projects as directed and document them appropriately.
  14. Provide backup coverage for helpdesk functions.
  15. Provide backup for other system applications as needed.
  16. Maintain good attendance, adhere to required work schedule, and be flexible to work schedule changes necessary to meet call/department coverage demands, as well as after-hours support.
  17. Research technologies to improve the performance and reliability of hospital-wide information flow.
  18. Support proprietary and industry-standard interfaces between clinical equipment, servers, software, and outside entities.

Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of Electronic Medical Records Systems. Experience building forms, writing reports, and training staff on the use of computer systems and EHR software applications, including functionality and workflow. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team with staff at various levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail.

Educational Requirements:

B.S degree in Computer Science or related field with relevant experience preferred. Experience in a complex healthcare environment or the equivalent in experience is required. An additional two years of demonstrated application analyst experience may be substituted for up to two years of the educational requirement.

Work Environment:

Office environment. Extensive use of keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Close attention to detail and ability to focus. Ability to reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds. Potential exposure to potentially infectious material. Moderate noise level.
