Our team at Wisbech is responsible for manufacturing premium chilled ready-to-cook meals for major retailers such as Asda and Co-op. We're a vibrant and fast-paced food manufacturer, employing around 13,600 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots across the UK.
We supply all the UK's food retailers with a wide range of products, from sandwiches and soups to cooking sauces, pickles, and ready meals. In our latest financial year, we generated revenues of £1.9bn.
Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Wisbech. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for verifying that all raw materials are delivered within specification and comply with food safety and legal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample, test, and monitor raw materials to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Assist in traceability requests and complete routine micro sampling.
- Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly checks on ambient materials.
- Liaise with suppliers and manage rejections and non-conformances.
- Collate and review Certificates of Analysis.
- Complete all necessary documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external audits.
- Provide cover for holidays and sickness within the team.
- Communicate effectively between all departments.
Requirements
- Food hygiene - Level 2
- Health and Safety - Level 2
- Ideally HACCP Level 2
- Allergen Awareness Training
- Previous raw material experience
- Experience of chilled manufacturing
- Microbiological awareness - understanding of basic food safety
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
