Reed Scientific is seeking a skilled Laboratory Equipment Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and qualification of analytical and production equipment across our client's business. This role requires a flexible and supportive approach to meet evolving business needs and ensure service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Equipment Team's schedule to ensure timely routine maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
- Carry out or delegate reactive repairs and qualification to lab equipment, minimizing downtime and monitoring performance against key performance indicators.
- Develop specialist technical knowledge on a range of equipment and lead procurement processes.
- Support projects, including equipment relocation and procurement.
- Review and approve qualification data and ensure compliance with quality management system records.
- Provide management updates on team performance, equipment issues, and project progress.
- Communicate effectively with the Manager and maintain key relationships across the business.
- Perform tasks in accordance with company procedures and good manufacturing practices.
Requirements:
- Experience with a range of laboratory equipment, particularly high-performance liquid chromatography.
- Previous calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical equipment.
- Preferably experienced in a good manufacturing practices environment.
- Experience in leading a team is desirable, but not essential.
- Excellent IT literacy and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and experience in team management.
- Flexibility to meet the business needs.
