The Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to join our team. As a Substation Engineer, you'll be responsible for the testing, safety, protection, and control of our electrical systems. You'll work on a wide range of projects, from substation refurbishment and maintenance to technical support and problem diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing equipment, safety, protection, and control of the system
- Substation refurbishment and maintenance
- Technical support and problem diagnosis
- Providing support and assistance to Operations Managers and other team members
- Developing skills to manage a range of duties on plant and equipment
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need a minimum 2:2 degree in electrical principles, such as electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or electronics. You'll also need a full valid UK driving license that allows you to drive in the UK.
What We Offer
We're proud to offer a starting salary of £33,154 (Bachelor's) or £34,360 (Master's). You'll also receive a £2,000 starting bonus, 26 days holiday, and a £2,400 payment on successful completion of the programme. Plus, you'll have access to a range of benefits, including pension and share-option schemes, Flexible Benefits, close mentorship and regular feedback, accreditation by the IMechE, IGEM, and IET, and volunteering opportunities.
