Teaching Assistant - SEND

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Reed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ASD and experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN in a classroom setting.
  • Assist the class teacher in preparing learning materials and maintaining a well-organized classroom environment.
  • Help implement individual learning plans and contribute to assessments.
  • Encourage children's confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to support the child's educational and social development.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN.
  • Understanding of ASD and how to support children with this condition.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to engage with children.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
