About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Pavements and Road Maintenance Advisor to join our team at the NZ Transport Agency.

As a key member of our Maintenance and Operations team, you will play a critical role in delivering quality pavement construction and pavement surfacing projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality assurance standards for pavement maintenance and operations
  • Drive quality standards in pavement construction
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance and Operations Group to monitor the quality of construction activities in the field
  • Ensure that construction activities are linked to quality assurance documentation and requirements
  • Identify and report on any deviations from design and construction standards

Requirements:

  • Significant field experience in delivering pavement and surfacing works
  • Competent and demonstrated understanding in the application of ISO systems and the ability to audit against these standards
  • Ability to cross-examine contractors' systems to incentivise and improve performance
  • Civil Engineering Qualification – Diploma or equivalent
