About Atkinson Secure Children's Home
Located in Exeter, Atkinson Secure Children's Home is a secure environment that provides exceptional parenting to young people aged 10-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our approach focuses on providing a safe and therapeutic environment, offering intensive support, intervention, and physical intervention as a last resort. We also work on their education, training in vocational skills, and life skills.
Job Overview
This role requires a caring and committed individual who can provide a supportive environment for our young people. As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring their physical and emotional well-being, promoting their independence, and encouraging their personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
- Encourage independence and self-reliance, supporting the development of life skills and vocational training.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to provide intensive support and intervention.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring the needs of young people are met.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the evaluation and review of care plans.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Experience of working with vulnerable young people, particularly those with emotional and behavioural difficulties.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.A commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment, promoting the physical and emotional well-being of young people.The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to the development and implementation of individual care plans.Working with Us
