We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our manufacturing operations at our Cockermouth site. As a key member of our Executive Management team, you will be responsible for the overall management of our manufacturing processes, including toolmaking, compounding, extrusion, materials preparation, moulding, finishing, and inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure a safe working environment, implement safe systems of work, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manufacturing Operations: Manage all manufacturing processes, including toolmaking, compounding, extrusion, materials preparation, moulding, finishing, and inspection.
- Quality and Performance: Set, measure, and report clear KPIs aligned with our Strategic Plans, focused on Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service, and People Excellence.
- Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership, recognize success, manage headcount, develop skills of managers and supervisors, and ensure all employees receive appropriate training.
- Customer Focus: Build a quality, customer-focused ethos, promoting a 'right first time, can do' culture within the manufacturing departments.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work proactively with planning, configuration, customer service, purchasing, and engineering functions to deliver high service levels and continuously improve customer service levels.
- Cost Management: Drive down costs by reducing waste, improving efficiencies, increasing automation, and implementing best practice manufacturing techniques.
