About the Role:

As a Maintenance Operative at ARU, you will be part of our Asset Management team, responsible for the planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of the University Estate. This includes commercial, residential, and domestic buildings. You will use a range of tools and equipment to undertake tasks such as Carpentry, building maintenance, minor plumbing repairs, decorating, floor laying, and compliance tasks. You will also prepare cost estimates and documentation for works undertaken and have an understanding of health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a variety of tasks including Carpentry, building maintenance, minor plumbing repairs, decorating, floor laying, and compliance tasks.
  • Prepare cost estimates and documentation for works undertaken.
  • Have an understanding of health and safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry, equivalent to level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ.
  • Previous hands-on, field experience, ideally gained in a multi-site environment.
  • Basic IT and numeracy skills.
