Key Responsibilities
  • **Compliance with Group Policies and Standards**: Ensure that all business activities are in compliance with our group's policies and standards, including data protection and corporate compliance.
  • **Legislative Advisory**: Advise on the application of legislation to the business, including changes in EU and UK law that may affect our operations.
  • **Data Protection Point of Contact**: Serve as the primary point of contact for external bodies and stakeholders, such as the ICO, on matters related to data protection.
  • **Policy Implementation and Maintenance**: Ensure the ongoing implementation and upkeep of data protection and corporate compliance policies.
  • **Awareness and Training**: Promote awareness of data protection and corporate compliance requirements throughout the organization, including designing, organizing, and delivering training programs.
  • **Documentation and Record-Keeping**: Own and maintain centralized documentation of activities related to data processing, data sharing, and data storage, as well as documentation related to corporate compliance matters.
  • **Compliance Advisory**: Advise internal teams on compliance with data protection legislation and corporate compliance requirements, working closely with the Legal team.
  • **DPIA Review and Advice**: Assist with, review, and advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to ensure the best possible outcome from a privacy perspective.
  • **Internal Audits**: Conduct internal data protection and corporate compliance audits to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • **Incident Response**: Lead and investigate incidents involving personal data, including data protection breaches.
  • **Data Subject Rights**: Manage and respond to data subject rights requests received by the organization.
  • **Key Developments**: Keep the General Counsel apprised of key developments in transactions and any relevant issues.
Requirements
  • **Strong Communication Skills**: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating and reporting priorities, vulnerabilities, and risks.
  • **Attention to Detail**: Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to prioritize and balance work flows within a busy environment.
  • **Knowledge of Legislation**: Have strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • **Interpretation and Implementation**: Ability to interpret, make relevant, and implement current data protection legislation and developments.
What We Offer

**Ventula Consulting** offers a competitive salary up to £80k per year, plus a pension, bonus, and package. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a leading infrastructure provider with a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role requires 3 days a week in either the London or Southampton office, with 2 days a week working from home.
