Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Plant Operations Manager to oversee the management of our company's plant, vehicle, and personal protective equipment (PPE) processes. This pivotal role will ensure the efficient upkeep and tracking of all company-owned plant, manage external plant hire processes, and maintain accurate vehicle records.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain comprehensive records on the asset register.
* Ensure current PAT testing records for all equipment.
* Manage the booking in and out of internal plant for projects.
* Review and record weekly plant sheets to identify action points.
* Control the on/off hire of external plant equipment.
Commercial Responsibilities:
* Raise purchase orders for all external plant hires and validate costs against procurement rates.
* Account for loss or damage charges with project manager agreement.
* Raise orders for short-term van hires as needed.
People Management:
* Build effective relationships with Project and Site Managers.
* Foster a leadership style that reflects the company's culture and values.
* Promote a positive team environment, offering guidance and support to operations teams.
* Support a unified business culture through open communication.
Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE):
* Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
* Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
* Maintain QA/QC processes and standards, implementing appropriate management systems and procedures.
* Maintain a flexible and proactive approach to additional duties supporting wider business needs.
Performance Measures:
* Minimise unknown plant hire overruns.
* Eliminate lost internal plant with no accountability.
* Previous experience in plant and transport management or a related field.
* Proficient in using asset management and procurement systems.
