Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Transport Operations Coordinator to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Transport Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the transport operations on site to meet both customer and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both customer and company expectations
  • Have the ability to react and positively adapt to the demands of the customers in a dynamic live environment
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of the transport planning systems adopting best practise and general housekeeping
  • Recognise peers' strengths and weakness, offer support to achieve business and personal goals
  • Continually look to improve the service we provide offering ideas and recommendations as necessary
  • Proactively prevent accidents and reduce hazards by ensuring that Company Policy, Health & Safety Standards, and standards of housekeeping are always followed across the Platform
  • Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business
  • Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner

Requirements

  • A good understanding of fast-paced transport teams
  • Experience of working in a Transport environment
  • Excellent communication skills – you'll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders
  • Good working knowledge of UK Geography
  • Awareness of Large Good Vehicles and Trailer combination equipment types
  • Experience in a challenging Customer Service environment
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
