Job Title: Academic Engagement Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Engagement Manager to join our team at Queen Alexandra College. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring relevant and accurate attendance statistics are maintained to inform next steps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and Maintain Attendance Statistics: To track on Databridge and Excel student attendance and reasons.
- Support Next Steps: To help support with next steps in liaison with line manager and appropriate staff.
- Improve College Attendance: To support with improving levels of College attendance, and to ensure parents, carers are aware of their legal responsibilities to secure regular attendance at the College or other organised provision.
- Contribute to Whole College Initiatives: To contribute to whole College initiatives, multi-agency training and/or group work to improve College admission and attendance.
- Ensure College Compliance: Ensuring the College is updated with national policies, procedures and legislation relating to attendance.
- Work in Line with College Policies: Work in line with college attendance policies.
- Support Curriculum Area Managers: To work alongside Curriculum Area Managers and Assistant Principals to support the effective implementation of the College Improvement Plan with regard to attendance and punctuality and positively and actively promote positive attendance across the College.
- Manage Records and Information Systems: Manage manual and computerised record/information systems including updating Databridge.
- Undertake Administrative Tasks: Undertake typing and word-processing, photocopying, filing and complex IT based tasks. To have knowledge of Databridge, emails and excel spreadsheets.
- Adopt a Flexible Approach: The post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible approach to enable the efficient and effective running of the College.
- Act in Accordance with Staff Code of Conduct: Act at all times in accordance with the Staff Code of Conduct and QAC Values of Respect, Excellence, Enabling, Collaboration and Inclusion.
- Comply with College Policies: Comply with all College policies and procedures.
- Undertake Training and Development: Undertake appropriate training and development as required, including any mandatory and/or refresher training required for the role.
- Participate in Training and Performance Development: Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
- Train and Develop Other Employees: Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.

- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and carers.
- Strong Organisational and Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of Attendance and Inclusion Policies and Procedures: Knowledge of national policies, procedures and legislation relating to attendance.
- Ability to Work in a Team Environment: Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students to achieve College goals.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
