About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to join our team as a Specialist Children's Nurse, providing specialist outpatient and inpatient pediatric nursing care. The role is part of a national service that provides holistic care for children and their families who have concerns about gender.

As a key member of the multi-professional team, you will be responsible for gaining and using expertise on puberty and wellbeing, developing a biopsychosocial formulation, and offering a range of interventions to help children and young people live well.

The role also involves working as part of the Paediatric Endocrine Nurses team, providing day case care, undertaking tests, and contributing to the development of new services.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To provide specialist nursing knowledge and skills regarding puberty and its management to children, young people, and their families.
  2. To work collaboratively with paediatricians, psychiatrists, fertility specialists, and psychosocial professionals during outpatient appointments.
  3. To contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality nursing care, including teaching and assessing students.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • RGN with 1st Level or relevant children's qualification.
  • Current NMC Registration.
  • Relevant accredited post-registration qualification at level 3.
  • Qualification in Teaching and Assessing.
