About the Role
CBSbutler is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team of experienced engineers. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems and mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development
- Design innovative mechanical systems and mechanisms using electro-mechanical principles.
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models using SolidWorks software.
- Technical Leadership
- Lead technical teams to produce high-quality design solutions within cost, time, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronic, control, and drive systems into equipment designs.
- Analysis and Testing
- Perform classical engineering analysis on designs, including stress, fatigue, and vibration using conventional analysis and computer simulation.
- Conduct lab testing to verify and conformance of design outputs to meet design inputs.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Develop and maintain engineering reports to support new product designs, failure investigation, and other formal documentation.
Requirements
- Experience
- Proven experience in the design of complex mechanisms and structures.
- Experience in the design of systems from original concept design, produced from a specification, through to production in a lead role.
- Skills
- Ability to analyze loads on and design solutions for drive mechanisms and motor systems.
- Understanding of machining, casting, fabrication, and moulding techniques.
- Experience in the use of 3D CAD systems (ideally SolidWorks).
