Benson Mack Search is proud to partner with a leading independent risk management consultancy firm to appoint an Energy Transition Safety Expert.

The ideal candidate will join a dynamic team at the forefront of the energy transition and play a crucial role in enabling the safe development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects across the UK and internationally.

As a seasoned technical or process safety professional, you will have a passion for working in high hazard sectors and driving the adoption of sustainable energy solutions.

The successful candidate will lead the provision of technical safety expertise for various energy transition technologies, including offshore wind, hydrogen, CCUS, and battery storage.

This involves supporting Principal Designers under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 on offshore wind projects, ensuring overall design evolves to eliminate risks where practicable or reduce them ALARP through effective mitigations.

You will facilitate understanding of residual risks by Principal Contractors to ensure safe construction practices and oversee the effective handover into Operations & Maintenance, ensuring residual risks are managed ALARP throughout the project's operational life.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline and experience applying risk management methodologies to energy infrastructure projects.

A strong background in implementing Technical Safety/Safety Assurance processes from concept design through to operation is essential, as well as experience in leading/facilitating Technical Safety studies and workshops.
