About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Urology Specialty Doctor to join our multidisciplinary team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. This is a fixed-term opportunity for 12 months, based in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, North Wales.

The successful candidate will be involved in providing urological services, reflecting changing patterns of delivery in line with national guidelines. Responsibilities will include carrying out teaching, examination, and accreditation duties as required, contributing to postgraduate and continuing medical activity locally and nationally.

With one day a week free from clinical duties, this role offers a great work-life balance. The post holder will be responsible to the Clinical Director (Surgery) through the Lead Clinician in Urology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in general urology outpatient clinics, managing routine elective and acute urological problems, including some exposure to paediatric emergencies.
  2. Manage one-stop ambulatory services, focusing on Haematuria, PSA clinics, and LUTS clinics.
  3. Participate in diagnostic Urodynamics, depending on experience.
  4. Contribute to the erectile dysfunction clinic, providing expert care to patients.
  5. Provide day-to-day clinical supervision to junior medical and nursing staff.
  6. Audit clinical activities, promote evidence-based medicine, and maintain clinical governance.

Requirements
  • 36 months of experience in surgery, excluding foundation modules, with at least 12 months in urology.
  • Hold FRCS (Urol) or equivalent higher urology surgical qualification.
  • Satisfy UK/EEA Immigration regulations or hold a valid work permit.
What We Offer
