Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Eurofins UK Clinical Diagnostics. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory by performing various tasks related to sample processing, stock management, and waste disposal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving, unpacking, and sorting patient samples
  • Dispose of general and clinical waste, including sharps, and maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Receiving and receipting stock when needed
  • Monitor stock levels of reagents and consumables and communicate with the team when levels are low
  • Maintain the stores area to an acceptable standard
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and the Quality Management system (QMS)
  • Report any non-conformances or near misses using local and company QMS and health and safety systems
  • Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and your colleagues
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth flow of work through the laboratory process

Requirements

  • Good general education and numeracy and literacy skills with a good command of spoken and written English
  • Scientific knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and good keyboard skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Data entry skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedure
  • General computer skills using the internet
