About the Role

Cogent Breeding Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced veterinary professional to join our team as a Livestock Veterinarian. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading company in the livestock industry, providing veterinary advice and support to our dedicated livestock team, laboratory, and distribution teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide veterinary advice and support to our livestock team, laboratory, and distribution teams
  • Monitor and advise on herd health and biosecurity plans
  • Inspect and test prospective sires for our Stud
  • Deputy center vet supervising responsibilities for Cogent Breeding licensed sites
  • Provide onsite clinical work, fertility exams, biosecurity advice, and health test protocols and interpretation as required
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues and/or customers in matters of cow health and fertility
  • Semen certification export & domestic semen movements and vet support documentation
  • On farm clinical examinations of new donor sires to include semen assessment where appropriate
  • Supervision of sire pre-entry process & veterinary liaison with breeder herds as per our protocols
Requirements
  • Veterinary Surgeon Degree and Registered MRCVS
  • Experience of livestock practice
  • Ability to work with autonomy to make decisions
  • Excellent prioritization skills
  • Positive attitude and desire to learn
  • Full driving license is essential
