About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Signalling Design Manager to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our signalling business, you will be responsible for leading and managing teams engaged in project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead teams in project delivery from inception to completion.
  • Ensure signalling design projects comply with client requirements, company procedures, and operational, technical, and safety principles.
  • Deliver signalling design projects to budget and programme.
  • Attend meetings and technical liaison with project team members, colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Lead design input to estimates/tenders as required.
  • Line manage design staff and provide mentoring, support, guidance, and development of junior staff.

Requirements:

  • Hold a current IRSE 7.8.110E Engineering Manager (Design) Licence or holds (or is working towards) CRE competency in line with NR/L2/RSE/02009/01.
  • Leadership experience in the delivery of signalling design projects, work packages, and design commissions as Design Manager and/or Design CRE.
  • Extensive mainline signalling design experience, including knowledge of UK railway standards, design processes, and procedures at outline (scheme development) and/or detailed design stages of delivery.
  • Proven experience of undertaking Signalling Design Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) duties in a variety of project environments involving a range of typical technologies currently deployed in the UK.
  • Able to communicate complex technical information to others without detailed knowledge of railway signalling systems.
