Electrical Design Engineer Professional

This position involves effective maintenance and repair of machinery to industry standards. The role includes planned maintenance, facilities maintenance, equipment reliability, and utilizing the CMMS system for the maintenance department.
The ideal candidate will optimize equipment reliability through a continuous improvement plan and adhere to company values regarding safety and training.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment, prioritizing the safety of oneself and others on the job site.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations such as IEEE, BS7671 Wiring Regs, and Electricity at Work regulations, ensuring adherence to safe working practices.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve safety, quality, customer service, and costs goals for the engineering and reliability function.
- Ensure optimal operation of ancillary and peripheral systems in the plant and warehouse through facility maintenance.
- Utilize the CMMS program to provide maximum reliability to manufacturing and ancillary systems.
- Develop and implement an 'optimum class' PM schedule.
- Continuously seek alternatives to reduce spending and promote improvement ideas.
- Provide support to production shift supervisors in responding to breakdowns efficiently.
- Demonstrate competence in using Lathe, milling machine, and other workshop machinery or willingness to learn.
- Carry out daily duties as required by the maintenance manager, ensuring compliance.
- Promote excellence in reliability engineering, predictive, and preventive maintenance within the department.
- Be responsible for plant facility and ancillary services.
- Display flexibility with work hours when needed to work overtime.
- Support project work as it arises.
- Document faults and projects carried out.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance or project roles.
They should possess knowledge of mechanical, electrical systems, electronic drives, and controls, as well as basic computer software skills (MS Office). Additionally, they should be aware of AC and DC drives, Basic PLC fault finding, and able to read and interpret maintenance documents.
A recognized indentured apprenticeship, experience with lathe and milling machines, and an understanding of engineering regulations are also beneficial.
