Job Description

The Clinical Biochemistry department at East Sussex Health Care Trust is a leading provider of diagnostic services for the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and East Sussex GPs. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering a first-class patient-centred service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory work and contribute to the development of lipid/cardiovascular disease prevention clinics.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacist and other department members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Participate in hospital, laboratory, and GP teaching activities.
  • Facilitate research initiatives and contribute to the department's agenda.
Requirements

The appointee will be expected to have a strong background in chemical pathology and a special interest in lipidology and cardiovascular risk prevention. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex information to patients and colleagues is essential.

The department offers a wide range of diagnostic tests, including general chemistry, endocrinology, tumour markers, haematinics, HbA1c, xanthochromia scanning, and protein electrophoresis. The appointee will be based at EDGH or Conquest Hospital, with the option to travel between sites as needed.
