Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Whitehaven area.

This role involves assisting students with SEN, particularly those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and non-verbal communication needs, helping them access learning and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Key Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification or experience working with children or adults with special educational needs is desirable.
  • Caring, patient, and empathetic approach towards supporting students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide individualized support to students.
About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students with SEN, including ASD, and non-verbal communication needs. The role requires a caring, patient, and empathetic approach to support students in accessing learning and thriving in a nurturing environment.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Part-time applications are also welcome.

Salary:

An estimated £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
