Senior Avian Curator

We are seeking an experienced supervisor to support our Aviculture team at BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums). The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience in avian taxa, supervising high-performing teams, and a drive to learn and succeed.

• The Living Collections Supervisor will play an active role in delivering our new collection plan, connecting the team, embracing change, and utilizing extensive experience in bird care, feeding, husbandry, exhibition, and animal behavior.

This is a key position that requires a driving license, offering numerous benefits including 33 days annual leave, a contributory pension scheme, life assurance, and access to health and wellbeing resources.

1. Supervise a high-performing team of aviculturists
2. Contribute to the development and implementation of the new collection plan
3. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure excellent animal welfare and conservation outcomes
4. Maintain accurate records and reports as required

• Experience in supervising a team and managing staff performance
• Extensive knowledge of avian taxa and their specific needs
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum
