Job Title: Buyer - Food

Rise Resourcing is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our client's food commercial team in West Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet company and team targets.
  • Maintain a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth in the categories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with large branded FMCG suppliers.
  • Sourcing suppliers and negotiating best cost prices.
  • Analyse sales figures to plan successful future lines.
  • Review levels of own brand stock and ensure adequate levels are available and minimise risk.
  • Present reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team.
  • Deal and resolve escalated supplier queries.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer within a fast-paced, FMCG environment preferably within grocery/confectionery/snacking.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience developing Own Label food and experience with international sourcing.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced, ever-changing FMCG market.
  • Good level of education, degree is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
  • Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.
  • Excellent understanding of all MS Office products including advanced Excel.
