About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our national team of clinicians. As a key member of our team, you will work with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other complex diagnoses to develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support plans.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess and observe participants' challenging behaviours, working towards increasing skills, improving emotion regulation, and introducing replacement behaviours to reduce the use of restrictive practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support plans in collaboration with allied health practitioners, support workers, and family members
  • Assess and observe participants' challenging behaviours, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Work with participants to increase skills, improve emotion regulation, and introduce replacement behaviours
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcomes for participants

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Behaviour Analysis, Teaching, Social Work, Social Sciences, Criminology, Childhood Education & Care, Health Science, or Allied Health
  • NDIS Registration as a Behaviour Practitioner (or the ability to become registered)
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other complex diagnoses (desirable)
  • A car and licence
  • A National Police Clearance, Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or ability to obtain one
