About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Lead to join our Nuclear Decommissioning Consents Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enabling the decommissioning programme by leading and managing the Nuclear Reactor (Environmental Impact Assessment for Decommissioning) Regulations (EIADR) consent application for at least two of the Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors (AGR) stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the EIADR consent application for at least two AGR stations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure environmental criteria have been considered in developing the decommissioning strategy.
  • Develop and manage the delivery of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) required to support various planning and environmental applications for the decommissioning of the AGR stations.
  • Lead on external engagement with relevant regulators, statutory consultees, Nuclear Restoration Services, and local communities.
  • Manage external consultants to deliver robust EIADR consent and planning applications.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in environmental science, planning consenting, geography, or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of EIA processes, environmental assessment methods, and applicable legislation.
  • Experience of EIA project management with client-side or consultancy experience.
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills.
  • Good organisation skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and willingness to ask for help when needed.
