Anson McCade, a leader in integrated defense solutions, is on the lookout for a proficient OpenStack Linux Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enhance the development of software-defined data centers and open-source technologies within its multinational Information Management division.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will take comprehensive ownership of the OpenStack environment, overseeing all aspects from instance creation to user support for model-based engineering teams. As the primary expert, your mission will be to ensure that the OpenStack setup is dependable, consistent, and optimized, utilizing automation tools such as Ansible to maintain seamless operations.
Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere maintenance; you will be accountable for the overall health, performance, and scalability of the environment. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver the necessary support for rapid and efficient innovation in their development and testing processes.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Active SC Clearance or the ability to obtain it prior to joining.
- Extensive knowledge of core OpenStack services (Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder) and significant experience with the Ceph storage platform.
- Proficient in deploying and configuring OpenStack environments using automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Advanced expertise in Linux operating systems, particularly RHEL, with strong command line and scripting skills (bash, Python) for automation tasks.
- Skilled in provisioning, configuring, and managing virtual machines and containers within OpenStack.
- Solid understanding of monitoring and logging tools to ensure service continuity, along with expertise in security best practices for maintaining OpenStack platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent customer service, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Benefits Package:
- Base Salary: Up to £80,000 (Dependent on Experience)
- Annual Bonus: Up to 21%
- Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension: 14% pension contribution (6% employee and 8% employer)
- Share Incentive Plan: Opportunity to purchase shares via payroll before tax and NI.

- Sick Pay: Ranges from 6 weeks for the first six months of service, scaling up to 48 weeks after five years of service.
