About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of outstanding services.

The successful candidate will work on a 1 in 8 on-call rota, covering weekday days, nights, and weekends. During this time, they will be responsible for providing care to women across various services, including antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecology ward rounds, clinics, theatres, and elective caesarean section lists.

As a clinical fellow, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology, working closely with experienced colleagues and attending weekly training sessions in intrapartum fetal monitoring using fetal physiology.

We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and all staff are expected to share this commitment. The trust expects all staff to be aware of children and adult safeguarding policies and procedures and to attend relevant training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on the general obstetrics and gynaecology rota, including weekday days, nights, and weekends
  • Provide care to women across various services, including antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecology ward rounds, clinics, theatres, and elective caesarean section lists
  • Develop skills and expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology through close collaboration with experienced colleagues and attendance at weekly training sessions
  • Contribute to the delivery of outstanding services and contribute to the achievement of the trust strategy

Person Specification:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for full registration if applying from abroad
  • Up-to-date adult and neonatal resuscitation training
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to ST3-5 level
  • Experience in delivering care in a high-risk delivery suite
  • Evidence of developing evidence-based services in obstetrics
  • Ability to perform acute gynaecology procedures
  • Commitment to continuing medical education

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
