Counselling Psychologist Role

We are seeking a Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with clients experiencing complex mental health issues.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a doctoral-level qualification in Counselling Psychology and be registered with the HCPC. Experience of working as a qualified psychological therapist, delivering structured interventions to clients with complex problems, and exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' care and treatment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapies to clients with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement positive risk management plans to ensure client safety.
  • Provide supervision and teaching/training to junior staff members.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A professional qualification in Counselling Psychology at doctoral level (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996).
  • Registration as a Counselling Psychologist with the HCPC.
  • Experience of working as a qualified psychological therapist.
  • Knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis.
  • Highly developed knowledge of specialised psychological therapies in difficult-to-treat groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, technical information to clients and professionals.
Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of £38,000 - £58,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will receive:
