About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Curator of American Art to join our team at the Association of Art Museum Directors. As a curator, you will be responsible for developing innovative approaches to interpreting American art for diverse audiences and growing previously underrepresented areas of the collection. This role presents a unique opportunity to work with a renowned collection and contribute to the growth of the museum's programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging programs and exhibitions that showcase the diversity of American art.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster public engagement and create synergies between departments.
  • Conduct research and propose acquisitions to build a diverse and inclusive collection.
  • Advocate for multidisciplinary scholarship and creative thinking to grow previously underrepresented areas of the collection.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A proven track record of building relationships and contributing to a positive organizational culture.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences and collections, particularly those underrepresented in American museums.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • A salary range of $77,000.00-$87,000.00, commensurate on experience.
