Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry North East Midlands. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing all costs related to our projects, ensuring that we achieve the required standards and quality while minimizing costs and enhancing margin and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all costs related to projects, including procurement, subcontract management, and administration of contracts.
  • Minimize costs and enhance margin and value for money while maintaining quality standards.
  • Prepare and manage key and large risk subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts.
  • Develop and implement subcontract procurement strategies and ensure compliance with Vistry Business Management System.
  • Monitor risk and opportunity schedules and manage risk from commencement to completion.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term delivery strategies for projects and manage personal development reviews of associated surveying resources.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in quantity surveying and knowledge of construction techniques and mixed-tenure schemes.
  • Demonstrable strong account management and commercial experience.
  • Ability to learn new computer systems and software, including Coins, Viewpoint/4Projects, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong team player with entrepreneurial ability to operate and excel in a changing on-site environment.
  • Good understanding of strategic objectives and targeting financial return, with ability to understand and manipulate complex financial models.
