About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled TUFLOW Technical Engineer to join our team at BMT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out testing, benchmarking, and other tasks related to proofing of developments in the TUFLOW software in liaison with the TUFLOW R&D team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant area of study, with a minimum of 2 years' UK experience post-graduation in hydraulic modelling for flood risk management including the use of TUFLOW. You will also need to have a customer-facing attitude, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out testing, benchmarking, and other tasks related to proofing of developments in the TUFLOW software in liaison with the TUFLOW R&D team.
  • Providing technical support and assistance for TUFLOW users within the UK, Europe.
  • Making judgements and recommendations on technical matters related to TUFLOW software.
  • Liaising with users, potential and current, to ensure a positive user experience.
  • Assisting in the provision of technical training courses.
  • Developing and demonstrating a sound knowledge of TUFLOW, associated systems, and hydraulic/environmental modelling processes.
  • Providing input as required on sales, marketing, and technical tasks and other projects as required.
  • Adhering to quality, safety, and environmental procedures/standards.
  • Contributing to or authoring technical papers as well as conference presentations.
