Performance and Development Engineer

Seismic Recruitment is seeking a skilled Performance and Development Engineer to join our client's R&D facility in Stafford. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engineering activity as part of the 5000 Series diesel product development activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calibrate diesel engine performance and emissions to meet global regulations
  • Verify and validate diesel engine components and systems through mechanical testing
  • Develop and manage component validation plans to ensure quality and reliability
  • Coordinate day-to-day engineering activity and manage test and analysis to drive project success
  • Analyze failures and resolve defects using industry-standard methods
  • Prepare technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with the design function through FMEA attendance to ensure seamless integration
  • Occasional overseas travel may be required to support business needs
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in engine performance and emissions calibration
  • Knowledge of emissions measurement techniques, worldwide emission regulations, and emissions measurement hardware
  • Understanding of turbocharger matching, fuel system optimization, and control system development
  • Ability to coordinate day-to-day engineering activity and manage test and analysis
  • Experience in failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
  • Strong writing skills for technical reporting
  • Working knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems, including cooling, turbocharging, lubrication, and air systems
